  1. Based on your stats. You only got .57 miles per gallon which is substantially less than power and motor yacht reports.

    1) Was the hull and running gear cleaned?

    2) Propellers tuned?

    3) What rpm were you running at?

Just curious I have taken my 42C to Florida twice and have probably averaged somewhere between your numbers and power and motor yachts numbers.

PS great trip. I am jealous

  2. The hull was cleaned and repainted and the running gear checked just prior to the trip. One prop got retuned in N.C. due to grounding and in turks and caicos one prop was new and the other reconditioned also due to gorunding. See blog details. I would have to say the trip was probably split 50/50 in average RPMs between 1800 and 2200. So probably an average 2000 RPM is what we somewhat maintained. But that is very estimated. The seas were very rough with a stiff headwind for a good part of the offshore trip so that may also account for the fuel usage being so high.
